Norman's VA clinic will add dental, physical therapy and optometry services in late fall 2026, expanding capacity for 2,400 more local veterans.

The clinic at 1020 24th Ave. NW will grow from four to six Patient Aligned Care Teams, according to The Journal Record, which reported the expansion Aug. 24. The teams, known as PACTs, are the VA's primary-care model pairing veterans with a dedicated physician, nurse and support staff.

The three new service lines will be available locally for the first time at the Norman clinic. The facility already offers mental health services, including treatment for PTSD, depression and anxiety, according to the VA's Norman clinic page.

Those services matter here. Norman is home to roughly 7,186 veterans out of a population of about 130,943, according to U.S. Census Bureau estimates for 2020–2024.

Wade Vlosich, director of the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System, said expanding access "remains one of our highest priorities." He described the new and expanded clinics as a continued investment in the health and well-being of veterans the system serves.

The Norman project is one piece of a broader Oklahoma City VA Health Care System initiative that will create space for more than 10,000 additional veterans to enroll in primary care across Oklahoma and North Texas. Other expansions include a new Yukon VA Clinic, additional capacity at the relocated Reynolds Clinic in Lawton, growth at the Wichita Falls and Stillwater clinics, and expanded mental health services at the Broadway VA Clinic.
