Shake Shack opened in Norman on Wednesday, Oct. 28, giving the city Oklahoma's second location of the New York-based burger chain.

The restaurant at 2335 24th Ave. NW sits in the University North Park development, at the southeast corner of 24th Avenue NW and Rock Creek Road. It is the first Shake Shack in Oklahoma with a drive-thru, featuring a digital menu board and ordering system, The Oklahoman reported.

Daphne Horges, Shake Shack's area director for Texas and Oklahoma, said Norman was chosen because of the engaging community and the partnerships the restaurant could form with organizations, according to the Norman Transcript.

Early guests on opening day received custom Shake Shack tumbler cups, the Oklahoman reported. The chain also pledged to donate $1 for every sandwich sold at the Norman location on Oct. 28 to the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma.

The Norman location will be open 10 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays through Sundays.

From ground lease to grand opening

Plans for the Norman restaurant surfaced in August 2025, when NormanOKDevelopment.com reported that Shake Shack Oklahoma LLC had signed a ground lease in June 2025 with UTC 3 LLC, a subsidiary of University Town Center developer Collette Real Estate. Lease terms were not disclosed.

The city of Norman issued a $1,185,000 commercial new-construction permit for the site during the week of Feb. 25 through March 3, according to building permit records published by the Norman Transcript. A separate $3,500 permit for a construction trailer at the same address followed during the week of March 18 through March 24.

Oklahoma's first Shake Shack opened in November 2025

Shake Shack's first Oklahoma location opened in November 2025 at 2111 NW 50th St. in Oklahoma City's OAK development, the Oklahoman reported. The Journal Record reported ahead of that opening that OAK is a 20-acre mixed-use district in north Oklahoma City.

The chain operates more than 703 locations globally and has stated a goal of reaching 1,500 U.S. locations, NormanOKDevelopment.com as of July 1, 2026.

Hoodline, citing KFOR, reported that the OAK location was described as the first of seven Shake Shack restaurants planned across Oklahoma.
