The Cleveland County CROP Walk returns Sunday, Oct. 18, for its 43rd year, raising money to fight hunger locally and worldwide.

The walk begins at 2 p.m. at the Adult Wellness and Education Center, 602 N. Findlay Ave. Check-in and pre-walk activities start at 1:30 p.m. The event goes on rain or shine.

Parking is available in the Norman Regional Porter Campus lots, accessible from Findlay and Porter avenues.

CROP stands for Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty. Proceeds support the international disaster relief and development work of Church World Service, the Norman Transcript reported. Twenty-five percent of the money raised stays in Norman, going to Food & Shelter Inc., which provides housing, free meals and other services to people in need.

The walk is family-friendly and open to the public. Walkers can register at the tent on walk day or sign up online at clevelandcountycropwalk.org. For information, contact organizer Brenda Wheelock at [email protected].
