Norman North head baseball coach Brian Aylor will enter the Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA) Hall of Fame, the school announced Thursday, Sept. 17.

Aylor has led the Timberwolves for 23 seasons, compiling 517 wins in Class 6A, seven regional championships, seven conference or district titles and a Class 6A state runner-up finish in 2013. His players have earned 23 OBCA All-State selections and 17 Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Distinguished Academic Awards.

"I'm extremely honored to be selected for the OBCA Hall of Fame," Aylor said in the school's announcement. "There are so many great coaches who have been a part of Oklahoma baseball, and to be recognized alongside them is very special to me."

Aylor took over the Norman North program in 2004-05. Along the way, he has been named Region 5 Coach of the Year five times, District 6A-2 Coach of the Year four times and Mid-State Conference Coach of the Year three times. He also earned the Ferguson Jenkins Coach of the Year award and the Daily Oklahoman Big All-City Coach of the Year honor.

Before he built the Timberwolves into a perennial contender, Aylor played professional baseball. The New York Yankees selected him in the seventh round of the 1996 MLB Draft, 209th overall, out of Oklahoma State University. He played four seasons as an outfielder in the Yankees' minor league system, batting .219 with 16 home runs and 52 RBI across 392 at-bats, according to Minor League Baseball records.

Then he turned to coaching.

Aylor hit 500 career wins March 12 when Norman North defeated Southmoore. Norman Public Schools District Director of Athletics TD O'Hara praised Aylor on X that day, thanking him for the positive impact he has made on student-athletes.

Outside Norman North, Aylor has served as director of operations for RISIN Baseball since 2020 and has run North Baseball Camps since 2004. The camps grew from 25 participants in their first year to more than 500 attendees.

The OBCA selects Hall of Fame inductees through an annual vote by the association's quadrant representatives and former presidents. Nominees can remain on the ballot for up to five years.

The induction banquet is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Wes Watkins Event Center on the Oklahoma State University campus in Stillwater, though a date has not been set.
