Musicians who want to play the Norman Music Festival in April 2027 have until Oct. 23 to apply.

The festival opened its performer application window on Sept. 10, OU Daily reported. The deadline to submit an application is Oct. 23, according to the festival's Facebook page.

NMF 2027 is scheduled for April 22-24, 2027, in downtown Norman. The festival is free to attend.

Since 2008, the Norman Music Festival has featured Oklahoma musicians across four outdoor stages and more than a dozen partner venues, according to the festival's website. The Norman Music Alliance, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, produces the event with what its website describes as "an all-volunteer crew, minus one overworked executive director."

Executive Director Shari Jackson leads that effort. In an Oklahoma Film + Music Office press release ahead of this year's festival in April, Jackson called the event "built by and for the community" and said it brings together businesses, fans and volunteers in the Walker Arts District in downtown Norman. She said the festival is a space where local creativity and national talent converge.

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office described NMF 2026, which ran April 23-25, as the festival's 18th year as one of Oklahoma's largest free music festivals.

Jackson has long emphasized the festival's no-cost model. "NMF is free and it will always be free," she told NonDoc in April 2023.

The festival's website directs prospective performers to follow NMF on Facebook and Instagram for application updates. No direct link to the 2027 application form was available on the festival's website as of Friday, Sept. 11.
