Main Street in downtown Norman will close to cars and open to costumes Friday evening for the 12th Annual Downtown Norman Fall Fest.
The free event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, along Main Street between Jones Avenue and Porter Avenue, according to the Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau. Families can trick-or-treat at storefronts, and kids can hit bounce houses and inflatables scattered through the event area.
Live performances take the stage from 7 to 8 p.m. The lineup includes acts from Sooner Theatre, OU Elite Dance and Norman Ballet Company.
At 8 p.m., the evening shifts to a dance party and costume contest. The bureau's event listing encourages attendees to show up in their best spooky, silly or creative looks.
What drivers need to know: Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Jones Avenue and Porter Avenue for the duration of the event. No parking will be available along that stretch.
Paid parking is available in the lot north of First Fidelity Bank. Proceeds benefit United Way of Norman.
This is the event’s 12th edition and draws hundreds of families to downtown, according to the visitors bureau. Costumes are encouraged.
