Norman Brewtoberfest moved downtown for the first time Saturday, Oct. 3, setting up along the street in front of the historic Norman Depot at 200 S. Jones Ave.
The free, all-ages festival ran from 4 to 10 p.m. and featured beer from three breweries that already call downtown Norman home: Beer Is Good Brewing Company at 216 E. Main St., Lazy Circles Brewing at 422 E. Main St. and Legally Brewed at 123 W. Main St. All three taprooms sit within blocks of the Depot.
The breweries poured seasonal fall beers, according to the Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau. Legally Brewed was founded by University of Oklahoma law students and still tips its hat to those roots with gavels attached to its beer taps.
Norman band The Lore opened the live music at 4 p.m., according to the group's Facebook page. Food trucks, craft and gift vendors selling locally made goods, and yard games filled out the evening.
The OU Print Club added an art element, bringing a mobile relief press to live-print T-shirts on site.
The festival was part of Artoberfest, a fall series organized by downtown Norman's independent art spaces and craft brewers. Several more Artoberfest events are on the calendar this month.
