Choctaw beat Norman High 35-12 on Friday, Sept. 25, at Harve Collins Stadium, claiming its first victory over the Tigers in OSSAA football history.

The Yellowjackets had been 0-16 all-time against Norman before Friday's game, as reported by The Oklahoman. The win ended a 16-game losing streak against the Tigers in the Class 6A-II District 1 matchup and dropped Norman to 2-3 on the season.

Junior receiver Knoxtyn Rallo led the Choctaw attack. Rallo broke loose for an 80-yard touchdown on a shovel pass and added a 33-yard scoring play, according to Oklahoman video coverage of the game. A transfer from Piedmont, where he ran the triple-option flexbone as a running back, Rallo has found a new role as a slot receiver for the Yellowjackets.

Choctaw entered the game ranked No. 15 in the SI Oklahoma High School Football Top 25 with a 2-2 record. Both of the Yellowjackets' losses came at home, to Mustang and Moore. They had won both road games, including a 37-6 win over previously undefeated Muskogee in Week 3.

Norman has alternated wins and losses through five games. The Tigers opened with a 45-18 loss to Norman North in the Crosstown Clash on Aug. 28, then routed Westmoore 44-14 in Week 1. A 44-6 loss to Mustang in Week 2 preceded a 45-26 win over Ponca City in Week 3.

The Sept. 25 loss makes three defeats in five games for a squad adjusting to Class 6A-II after reclassification.

Norman lost 27 players to graduation after the 2025 season, most of them starters, according to the Norman Transcript. Head coach Rocky Martin, in his 10th year leading the program, acknowledged the challenge during fall camp in August.

"Whenever you lose a number of starters up front, it's gotta be a priority on both sides of the ball," Martin told the Norman Transcript in August. "If you're going to have success, it's going to start up front."

Martin pointed to senior defensive lineman Oakley Caruthers, a three-year starter committed to the Air Force Academy, as the anchor on both sides of the ball. Caruthers recorded 74 tackles, eight tackles for loss and six sacks in 2025, per the Tigers' season preview.

Norman (2-3, 0-1) travels to Lawton Eisenhower on Friday, Oct. 2.
