Former Oklahoma softball outfielder Abby Dayton has signed with the Knoxville Miracle, a Professional Softball League expansion team preparing for its inaugural 2027 season.

OU announced the signing Aug. 20. Dayton becomes the fourth player announced to the Miracle's roster.

Dayton, a 2026 OU graduate, spent two seasons in Norman after transferring from Utah. She hit .352 across 123 games with the Sooners, going 100-for-284 with 102 runs scored and 62 RBIs. She started at all three outfield positions during the 2025 and 2026 seasons, earning NFCA First Team All-Midwest Region and All-SEC Second Team honors in her final year.

The numbers tell the story.

Her professional career is already off to a fast start. Dayton spent the summer of 2026 playing for the Florida Vibe in Bradenton, Fla., one of the PSL's seven founding teams, and earned the league's Rookie of the Year award.

The Knoxville Miracle will be the PSL's first expansion franchise when it takes the field in 2027, marking Knoxville's first professional women's sports team. The league launched in December 2025, combining seven independent teams into a single structure, with its first season of play beginning in June 2026. Games air on the All Women's Sports Network, available through Amazon Prime, Pluto TV and DirecTV.

League executive Caylan Arnold Elliott, a former Lady Vol, explained the rationale for the Knoxville expansion when it was announced in April 2026, telling SI.com: "The fanbase is here. You have young girls who need role models to look up to."

The Miracle has also signed infielders Maddie Moore and Makayla McClain, announced July 22. A full schedule and home venue for the 2027 season have not yet been announced.
